touching the past

I had a rare opportunity to get to fly a WWII T6 Texan. This is the aircraft most pilots learned to fly in before taking the controls of the fighter planes of the day. Photos of this incredible plane are here. It is opportunities like this that make the path to flying so much fun.

The plane is owned by Jim Bergman. It is housed at Chino airport in California.

Jim was great. He let me know what he was doing durring the run up and take off. He allow me to take the controls durring the climb out until we reached our first destination. I got to practice some turns and he gave some insight on keeping altitude durring the turn.

We did some +2g Climbs and rolls over Cleveland National Park. A great day!
