You will not hear me whining about gas costs being too high.
I hope they hit $6.00 soon, just don’t tell anyone I said that.
I have no belief in mankind’s ability to conserve unless faced with either a very visible crisis or economic pressure. Not being an economics major I could not guess what that would do to the economy in the long run. I am sure it would hurt in the now (hey I work in a transportation based industry); but I know humans adapt and certainly American can find a way to push forward.
I have started to wonder how I would act in a $6+ fuel world. How much would I car pool? Is public transportation an option? Will it even be able to support the pressure it will have when people want to leave there cars at home? How would I look on an electric Vespa?
I will embrace the rising cost of fuel as a fantastic challenge in humankind’s ability to adapt and thrive (even if I end up unemployed and riding a moped).
