Saturday Night at the Police Station

We were invited to take a tour of the Fullerton Police station Saturday night.

It was two families with 3 kids. My son wore his police shoes which was a big hit.

Highlights for me:

>Seeing how technology is being used from dispatch (looked like a small death star run by very nice ladies) to police vehicles that automatically record licence plates as they drive to look for stolen cars.

>Getting to know a little more about city government.

Highlights for the kids:

>Hearing a Taser fire.

>Meeting Jager, a huge police German Shepard.

>Sitting in the patrol car and hitting the siren.

My son said to me Sunday morning “I want to be a policeman when I grow up. I do too, kid.

  1. Oh my kids would go nuts if they had this opportunity. What a great way to introduce kids to police work and help them understand what they do. Love the picture of the kid on the bike. Awesome.

  2. Police work is very misunderstood in our society. I am very glad that your kids are getting a good start at having respect for our authorities.
