IF I am on time going to work I drive by the kids walking to the local High School. It is hard to even remember what that was like.
Couple of thoughts come to mind; awkward, fun, dramatic, clumsy, urgent.
I saw a younge girl, probably a freshman, today. I was in my car at the light, she was walking alone on the side walk, a group of kids in front and behind her. She stumbled, caught herself and kept walking. I sat there and thought what was probably going through her head. All the drama, worry, useless stress.
My oldest is only 3-1/2 years away from being a teenager.
I wonder if I will be able to be her parent and remember what it was like going through those changes, finding your way.
Of course without shipping her off to Military Schools (yes sweetie, Provo is very nice this time of year).

One thing I realized about the finding your way thing. It continues on after they leave home. And we still get to go along for the ride.
Yeah you will. I’ve had to try and find that in myself and it has been a long time since HS for me. All three of my daughters have one time or another gone through the “drama” that is HS. Have an ear for them and listen to them. You’ll understand when it comes time..
I was, just a moment ago, reading You’re Gonna Make it Through Junior High by John Bytheway, for our son. He’s only in grade three but he’s Gifted and going through a lot of emotions that someone goes through at the junior high age. It’s quite good so far and I recommend you add it to your bookshelf for when you need it.
I like the quiet pensiveness of this post. And I sure like the name of your blog. It could double as an alias for mine. The URL is confusing me, though….
Natasha: I set up the URL originally for a work site. I wanted one of my sales folks to blog about our industry. I was then going to use the URL as landing page for the company (have not done this yet). After I set it up I set this one up for myself. His is http://ruben.proven3pl.com
