what is a church?
man builds so many. in large cities that stand like stone icebergs that never melt. in californian suburbs they dot the neighborhoods like too many sides of toast for one meal. in western ghost towns they remind me of the song from the mamas and papas.
man builds churches for the glory of God. man builds a place to congregate with his and her fellow humans and rejoice in the glory of god and praise him.
the world itself is a church. every mountain an alter. every rock a pew. every tree a tapestry. every flower is incense and myrrh. every stream is a sacrament.
is my body itself not also a church. constructed by God for the glory of God. a church of one.
stopped into a church
i passed along the way
oh, i got down on my knees
and i pretend to pray

the only necessary component for a church is that one has an experience of relationship with the supreme Person. This includes the church of the world, and the church of the body. Many who say they have no need of some building that a man made, that they are always at one with god (God), that the whole world is their tabernacle actually have little use for that supreme Person or their relationship with Him.
Just like anything can be used for anything else, simply by intent, one’s life can be an unending hymn of that undying loving affair with the Lord in the Heart. All that is needful is to ask, to be, to do.
I am enjoying your blog very much,
